Lake Paradox Club, Cottages on a Peaceful Lake
An Adirondack tradition on beautiful Paradox Lake.
Guests have been staying at Lake Paradox Club for over 100 years. Located on 400 acres of private land at the west end of pristine Paradox Lake in the Gore Mountain Schroon Lake region of the Adirondacks, groups and families seek out Lake Paradox Club for a chance to escape the real world and relax in a serene, naturally beautiful area.
While the word “Club” may conjure images of exclusivity and hoity-toitiness, don’t go there. This Club is a place where everyone is welcome, even dogs and cats. Run by the same family for four generations, the property consists of twelve rental cottages, a private beach, docks and recreational facilities.
Lake Paradox Club hasn’t lost its original rustic charm. The owners endeavor to keep the atmosphere the same but make improvements each year (we recently saw pix of some bathroom upgrades on their Facebook page).
Many of the rentals are sizeable (more like houses than cottages) with three to five bedrooms. Only one cottage has just one bedroom and bath.

All houses are fully furnished and have full, modern kitchens, and screened-in porches and all but one have fireplaces. Four of the houses are available year-round. Summer guests are required to bring their own linens.
There are plenty of things to do right on the property, including:
Private natural sandy beach for swimming,
Rowboat
Baseball field
Volleyball court
Asphalt tennis/Pickleball court
Horseshoe pitch
Basketball backstop
Motorboats are available for rent, as well as Sunfish sailboats, kayaks and canoes. More adventure is nearby, including hiking, mountain climbing and camping. Fisherpeople can find bass, pike, pickerel, lake trout and perch in Paradox Lake, which is also stocked with rainbow trout. Historic Fort Ticonderoga is 30 minutes away. The Village of Schroon Lake is less than 10 minutes away, with shops, grocery store, restaurants and coffee bars.
Lake Paradox Club is just one mile East of Exit 28 of the New York State Northway (Interstate 87) on River Road, just off Route 74.
