We love that all kinds of arts are alive and well in the ADK. For opera and musical theater lovers, the Seagle Festival provides an opportunity to experience the talents of the world’s most promising rising vocal stars right here in the Adirondacks.

The Seagle Festival has long been recognized as the premier opera and musical theater-producing organization in the Adirondack region of upstate New York and the oldest summer vocal training program in the United States. It’s even been referred to as Opera Boot Camp.

Every year, uber-talented young singers vie for an opportunity to train and perform at the Seagle Festival, considered to be one of America’s most elite vocal academies. While at Seagle, they will take classes, workshops, and stage performances of musicals and operas that are often the hottest tickets in the ADK.

For nine short weeks in Schroon Lake, NY, these up-and-coming opera and music world stars will get a master class in the life of a professional singer. With only three Sundays off during the entire season, their schedules are chock-a-block with performance rehearsals, classes and workshops to prepare them for the life of a professional musical performer. And we get the benefit of stellar musical performances throughout the summer.

World-famous baritone, Oscar Seagle, founded the Seagle Music Colony in 1915. From its beginning over 100 years ago to today, young singing actors travel from across the country to study with the institution’s dynamic faculty and staff.

You will find alumni from Seagle on Broadway and some of the world’s most important opera stages, including the New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Metropolitan Opera, and more.
