Looking for something to do during the Presidents’ Day holiday break? Visit the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls for a storytime celebrating Black History Month.

The Museum will present a program featuring the book, “The ABCs of Black History” by Rio Cortez, the color pictures of famous Black and African American figures.

For example, “B” stands for Beautiful, Brave, and Bright. Letter by letter, this book honors and commemorates a story that spans continents and centuries, triumph and heartbreak, creativity and joy.

It’s a story of big ideas— ”P” is for Power, and “S” is for Science and Soul.

The book also tells the tale of significant moments in Black History — “G” is for Great Migration. Or iconic figures — ”H” is for Zora Neale Hurston. It’s an ABC book like no other and a story of hope and love.

This program is intended for children ages 5 to 9 but is open to all.

The storytime is free but requires a reservation. To register, please call (518) 793-2826. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required.

Visit the Chapman Museum website for more information.
