Natural Stone Bridge and Caves have been a local fixture for many generations. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the expansive site and see the massive marble cave entrance (the largest in the Northeast) and waterfalls, gorges, and caves.

Depending on the season, visitors can also take guided adventure tours, including gemstone mining, climbing walls, and dinosaur digs.
Travelers can reach Natural Stone Bridge and Caves from New York State Route 9 just north of Pottersville and below Schroon Lake. From there, it’s just a short drive to the site of the caves and bridge.
Guests check in at the kitschy souvenir store and rock shop. Do not let this turn you off. Exiting the frowzy check-in station, you will immediately assess the massive stone bridge arch. a commanding display of Adirondack geology.
The stone bridge has captivated visitors for over 200 years. Bring your walking stick, map, and camera and set out on a self-guided, above-ground tour over a natural stone step nature trail and experience up-close the many unique rock features in the marble gorge, such as potholes, grottos, and mill site waterfalls. Descend into lighted surface caves with raging waterfalls or tranquil dark pools.
For those seeking greater adventure, take one of the exclusive cave explorations. These unique guided Adventure Tours offer a 3-4 hour-long cave crawl through rock, sand, mud and water (if that’s your jam). Tours culminate in a floating tour through Garnet Cave, where local “mermaids” used to swim and give talks to tourists.
