Fit for foodies, a destination restaurant in a cozy craftsman-style cottage with an innovative menu.

We definitely give a hoot about The Owl at Twilight, a delightful destination restaurant in Olmstedville, about 7 miles northeast of North Creek.
The restaurant has had many incarnations, but we’ve stuck with them over the years. Today, the menu features locally sourced ingredients, an excellent selection of wines, and hand-crafted cocktails. The PEI Mussels, served in a light saffron coconut broth, are a family favorite, as is the Garden Kale Caesar salad.

The Prime NY Strip with roasted wild mushrooms and a light cognac cream thrilled us on a recent visit, as did the Roasted Pork Osso Buco. I keep coming back for the Boca Chica Seafood Stew with shrimp, scallops, and mussels in spicy coconut milk with roasted sweet corn, greens, and saffron rice.
Located in a craftsman-style cottage, the ambiance at the Owl is pure charm. Score a table on the screened-in back porch overlooking the herb and vegetable garden for a truly memorable occasion. Blankets are available if there’s a chill in the air.
It’s off the beaten path, for sure, but well worth the drive. The Owl is a seasonal restaurant open in the summer and early fall, so check their website for hours, and you best make a reservation if you want to ensure you get a table.
