2023 Essex County Fair, August 16-20
Country Hoedown is the theme of this year’s Essex County Fair, and the schedule is full of homegrown fun.

In New York's Adirondack Mountains, Essex County hosts their annual fair, August 16 - 20, 2023, in Westport, NY. And while they bill themselves as a “small agricultural fair,” it’s chock-full of fun events and activities, live music and entertainment, food, exhibits and agricultural demonstrations.
And their one-price admission includes carnival rides, animal shows, face painting, exhibits and parking for Only $10 per person!

High-flying excitement.
The Flying Cortes brings high-flying excitement with their aerial trapeze and thrill show. The multi-generation troupe of aerialists has starred in such notable productions as Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus, The Big Apple Circus, and Circus Flora.
The troupe of performers has toured internationally and has won the prestigious “Golden Elephant” award at the Festival International del Circ at Du Massy, France.
The Flying Cortes continues to amaze audiences at Fairs with the same spectacular tricks and level of first-class quality and professionalism that have made them famous. They will perform multiple times daily during the fair, so check the fair schedule for a good time to catch the high-flying action.
Spectacular feats of canine derring-do.
The Dynamo Dogs will appear at this year’s Essex County Fair. The Dynamo Dogs are a talented team of canine performers that have entertained crowds all over the U.S. with their disc, agility, and trick skills.

Delicious food and drinks.
Of course, no trip to the fair is complete without indulging in all the delicious food and drinks available. Satisfy your cravings with traditional favorites like funnel cakes and corn dogs, or explore some of the more innovative options like gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, vegan-friendly options and more.
Stop by the Thirsty Horse Beer Garden for refreshments daily.
Fun and games for Lil’ ADKers.
Bring the whole family along to explore the world of the fair! From carnival rides to petting zoo animals, plenty of activities will entertain even the littlest members. An arts and crafts tent and a special kids' cooking contest will also be there.
Special competitions and contests.
The Essex County Fair is also home to some of the most unique competitions in the state.
Try your hand (or hoof) at the pig race, show off your skills at a donkey and mule pull contest, or test your green thumb in the horticulture competition.

Getting there.
The Essex County Fair is located on Main Street in North Elba, NY and the best way to get there is to take the Northway (I-87) to Exit 30. From there, follow signs for Route 73 West, and you'll find yourself right in the heart of all the action.
