Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks High Peaks region, Rock and River Lodges offer families and friends a terrific launch pad for outdoor adventure year-round. In addition to cozy and charming accommodations, Rock and River offers guided hiking, climbing, snowshoeing and ice climbing treks and lessons. You don’t need to be a guest to use their guide services.

Living Room in Climber’s Lodge

In the last year or so, Rock and River converted from bed & breakfast to offering rental of its guest facilities in their entirety — two Adirondack style buildings: The Guide’s House (sleeps 14) and The Climber’s Lodge (sleeps 12).

Rock and River sits in a tranquil mountain valley with vistas of bucolic open fields and the ADK high peaks. Those seeking privacy and seclusion will appreciate being surrounded by thousands of acres of state-owned wilderness. World-class hiking, skiing, rock and ice climbing are right on their doorstep. Guests are still within easy distance of great shopping, cultural establishments and ADK history.

The first lodging option at Rock and River is constructed from the former homestead barn. The Climber’s Lodge comfortably sleeps 12 and consists of:

  • Three private guest rooms

  • A large group sleeping room with six single beds

  • Indoor climbing wall

  • Free high-speed wireless internet

  • Fully equipped kitchen (you’ll be doing your own cooking)

  • Central living room complete with a grand stone fireplace (Rock and River provides the wood)

In addition, rental of the Climber’s Lodge includes exclusive use of the nearby Riverside lean-to and fire pit.

Larger groups may find the Guide’s House more commodious. Built in 1992, this building can sleep up to 14 people and consists of:

  • Six bedrooms

  • Plenty of outdoor living with several decks

  • Large dining room and kitchen for you to prepare your meals

  • TV and rec. room with ping-pong and foosball

  • Free wireless internet

Rock and River’s gear and classrooms occupy an independent part of the Guide’s House (accessed through a private and separate entrance).
Rock and River books up quickly for the summer months, so act fast. Don't forget the glory of the ADK in September, October to mid-November. And the winters can be magnificent. So, if you're looking for a great get-away for your crew, Rock and River is a great option any time of year.
