Where in the ADK? Ausable Chasm
This week’s “Where in the ADK?” comes from outside historic Keeseville, NY, in the Lake Champlain region in the northeast Adirondacks. It’s Ausable Chasm, sometimes referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks. First established over 150 years ago, this is a popular spot for rafting and hiking. The views are beyond spectacular.
Ausable Chasm is a four-season attraction. In the winter, travelers can experience spectacular sights (weather-depending), including enormous icicles and the snow-covered gorge. They also have the advantage of fewer crowds.
