Beyond the Sea in Bolton Landing

Excellent seafood and steaks that will have you crooning like Bobby Darin: “Happy we’ll be beyond the sea….”

Located in beautiful Bolton Landing, we are impressed by Beyond the Sea’s terrific seafood prepared with seasonal ingredients. And as the name implies, there are several non-seafood menu items.

On our recent visit, we shared the Rhode Island Calamari — lightly floured like the best Frito Misto in Venice. Fried cherry peppers and truffle lemon aioli accompanied it. The Bao Buns were delicious. Warm, fluffy buns steamed to perfection and stuffed with savory pork belly and some kind of slaw. Delish.

Mama Bear loved the seafood risotto; Baby Bear relished every bite of lobster ravioli, while Papa Bear devoured seared Ahi tuna.

The dining room feels like the upstairs of a swanky boathouse at a classic Adirondack Great Camp, upscale but still casual. We went for a special occasion dinner, but now we’ll use any excuse to go back.

Beyond the sea is very busy during the summer season and holiday weeks. Reservations are highly recommended.
