“Home for the Holidays” Ice Show in Lake Placid
The Skating Club of Lake Placid presents a showcase of fantastic figure skating talent from across the Adirondacks.
Attend the “Home for the Holidays” Ice Show in Lake Placid on December 17 at 5 pm. This year’s program features local figure skaters, ranging from young beginners to seasoned competitors, performing routines choreographed to beloved holiday melodies.
Enjoy a skating exhibition featuring the Skating Club of Lake Placid, including Olympians and Olympic hopefuls, at the 1932 Jack Shea Arena in Lake Placid. This fabulous event is a perfect family-friendly affair, creating a joyful atmosphere for the community to come together and celebrate the season's magic.
Highlights include performances by 1994 Olympian pairs figure skater Karen Courtland Kelly and regional competitors Dominica and Kalina Sarandeva. Courtland Kelly will be skating to “Ave Maria,” played live by violinist James McDonald. The Sarandevas, who are siblings, will perform a duet to Sia’s “Snowman.”
Christie Sausa, President of the Skating Club of Lake Placid, told the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, “We are excited to bring the community together for our annual holiday show. Our board members, coaches, and skaters have been working hard to deliver a memorable show that captures the spirit of the holidays.”
