Pumpkins are helpful in many ways — as a filling for pie, jack-o'-lanterns, and, as it turns out, as a projectile. The Adirondack Pub & Brewery has hosted its annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ after Halloween for several years. And this year, expect another fantastic family event.
According to an article in the Lake George Examiner, the event “started mainly with catapulting pumpkins. It’s grown into an event that mixes a medieval village with dancing witches and more,” according to Adirondack Pub & Brewery owner John Carr.
Event highlights include:

The Dancing Witches will cast a friendly spell on the event.
Food and beer trucks
Live music
The famous Dancing Witches from the Gem Theatre
Medieval performances and battle demos
Giant slide
Bounce house
Slingshots for launching apples and other fruits
Bonfires
While the event is free to attend, it is BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) for launching. Sources tell us that whole pumpkins make the most significant impact (jack-o’-lanterns tend to fall apart).
