Tupper Lake’s Wild Center

The renowned Wild Center in Tupper Lake was recently nominated for "Best Science Museum" in USA TODAY's 2024 10-Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the second consecutive year.

Voting for the awards is open to the public. Friends and museum fans are encouraged to support The Wild Center by voting online until February 12, 2024. USA Today reports current vote rankings daily, and site visitors are allowed one vote per day.

Wild Center is recognized alongside America’s top natural history museums.

The Wild Center is up against 20 other nominees selected by a panel of travel experts. The list includes some of the most recognized and esteemed science and natural history museums nationwide.

It includes the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the Saint Louis Science Center, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

In 2023, The Wild Center finished second among the top 10 science museums, including The Museum of Flight in Seattle and the Michigan Science Center in Detroit.

“We were thrilled to be nominated for this award last year - but to be recognized two years in a row really shows The Wild Center’s commitment to innovation and discovery,” The Wild Center’s Marketing Director Nick Gunn recently remarked.

Gunn went on to say, "I think the cool thing about something like this is that a small science museum in a remote portion of the country can hold its own because of support from a small but dedicated community. We for sure are encouraging everybody to get on and vote once a day from now until February 12."

The polls are open! Support the Wild Center by casting your ballot today (and every day).

Show your ADK pride and vote for The Wild Center by visiting USA Today’s website once per day until polls close on Monday, February 12, at noon ET.

USA Today will announce the winning museums on Friday, February 23. For more information about the 10 Best Awards and to see the complete list of winners across multiple categories, visit USA Today 10Best.
