Left Bank Café in Saranac Lake
A delicious slice of Paris in the Adirondack Park.
Left Bank Café is a French bistro in the heart of Saranac Lake Village overlooking the Saranac River. So, depending on where one stands, it could be on the Left Bank of the river.
The seasonal menu features bistro classics like chilled cucumber soup, escargot, or a delicious Lyonnaise onion soup. Among the dishes we’ve enjoyed are superb oven-roasted salmon with fennel, broccoli and quinoa. It’s also nice to see classics like Duck Confit a l’Orange and Beef Bourguignon on the menu. Our party recently enjoyed the Seafood Tagliatelle.
Like many great ADK restaurants, Left Bank sources ingredients from local farms and producers, which we love.
Open for business in the Adirondacks: Left Bank Market.

An authentic Parisian pedigree in the High Peaks.
To put it simply, the Left Bank doesn’t just walk the walk; they talk the talk. The Left Bank Cafe’s history is a testament to the bistro’s roots. After returning home from serving in the US Army Air Force during WWII, Jack Weissberg opened the Saranac Lake Bakery and Left Bank Café, bringing the spirit of Paris to the heart of the Adirondacks.
Many years later, his son Kenneth and wife Noella continued on that legacy with the Sister City Association between Saranac Lake and Entrains-sur-Nohain, and in 2010 with the recreation of the Left Bank Café, along with their son Christopher.
Be sure to visit Left Bank’s website and Facebook page to learn about current hours, menu options and special events. They frequently offer prix fixe dinners, live music, guest chefs and wine tastings.
