November in the Adirondacks offers many diversions.

Although the leaves may have fallen and the boats are now stored away for the winter, November is still an excellent time to visit the Adirondacks. With fewer crowds, it's an ideal time to go hiking. Moreover, since the trees are bare, we can enjoy incredible views of our lakes and mountains hidden by foliage during the summer.

New York State Free Fishing Day — November 11. NYS residents and non-residents can fish freely, unfettered by a freshwater fishing license.

Visit the Wild Center for Free in Tupper Lake — November 11. Visit the Adirondacks’ interactive natural history museum for free. Worth a drive from anywhere.

Fort William Henry Field of Flags and Salute to Veterans — November 11. See 8,000 flags placed in honor of Adirondack region veterans, and attend a ceremony that includes a musket salute.

Live Raptors at the Tannery Pond Center — November 11. Take flight on a thrilling adventure into the realm of incredible birds of prey.

William Shatner Returns to Ticonderoga — November 17 -19. The OG Captain Kirk is back!

17th Annual Special Olympics Polar Plunge — November 18. Freezin’ for a reason in the chilly waters of Lake George to support the Special Olympics.

Gobble Wobble — November 23. Glens Falls annual 5K and family fun race is a great way to work up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner.

Adirondack Health 5K Turkey Trot — November 23. Lake Placid’s Adirondack Health hosts the 14th annual 5K trot/walk/run on Thanksgiving Day.
