Free Admission to The Wild Center in Tupper Lake

The Wild Center, located in Tupper Lake, is commonly known as the Adirondacks’ Museum of Natural History. With its 115-acre campus of natural trails, outdoor exhibits and indoor facilities, the Wild Center provides visitors with various experiences that help them appreciate and comprehend the unique characteristics that make the Adirondack Park exceptional.

On Saturday, November 11, they will open their gates to the community free of charge.

Now is the perfect opportunity to explore The Wild Center. Take the forest music trail with 24 speakers placed along a walkway through the woods that blend music with natural sounds.

Lil’ ADKers and their families can enjoy the Pines Wild Play Area, an all-natural playground with a comfortable spot for adults to chill and relax.

Take the Wild Walk, a trail of bridges to the treetops of the Adirondack forest. Visit a four-story twig tree house, swing on bridges, clamber over a spider’s web or climb to the full-sized bald eagle’s nest at the highest point.

Explore the 54,000-square-foot indoor space full of fascinating and interactive exhibits.

Relax with the River Otters, watch a featured film in the Flammer Theater, or don Oculus Rift 3D goggles, mount the flight-simulating platform, and experience flying with Birdly VR.
