Upstate New York’s First Winter Triathlon is Happening in the Adirondacks

Empire State Winter Games has added a Sprint Winter Triathlon to its roster of events in February 2024.

New this year to the Empire State Winter Games (ESWG) portfolio is a Sprint Winter Triathlon. The ESWG is an event that revolves around athletes, winter, and the beautiful Adirondacks.

The ESWG Sprint Winter Triathlon, which is the first event of its kind in Upstate New York, will consist of a 5k run followed by a 10k winter bike and a 5k cross-country ski on the scenic trails of the James C. Frenette Sr. Recreational Trails at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.

Founded in 1980, the Empire State Winter Games are a multi-day winter athletic competition headquartered in Lake Placid, NY. Amateur athletes of all ages and from all over the Northeast and Canada compete in more than 30 winter sports competitions over three days every February.
