Located on Osgood Pond near the town of Paul Smiths, White Pine Camp has been welcoming guests for well over 100 years.
White Pine Camp’s Tennis House
First owned by New York City banker Archibald White and his family, White Pine Camp consists of 20 buildings, including the owner's cabin, dining hall, guest buildings, two boathouses, a tennis house, and a bowling alley. The Camp is known for its iconic Japanese tea house, a very fashionable feature during the Great Camp heyday.
White Pine Camp distinguishes itself from other Great Camps for its subtle, pre-modern aesthetic. A departure from the rough-hewn-log cabin style of the Vanderbilt’s Sagamore or J.P. Morgan’s Camp Uncas, White Pine features soaring roof lines, asymmetrical-shaped buildings, and the extensive use of dramatic, natural lighting.
The Whites sold White Pine Camp to Kansas City Star owners Irwin and Laura Nelson Kirkwood. During the Kirkwoods’ ownership, U.S. President Calvin Coolidge took up residence at the Camp from early July to mid-September of 1926. Subsequent owners included Sears-Roebuck’s heiresses and Paul Smiths College.
Today, 40 owners share an interest in the camp, and lucky us, we can stay at this award-winning resort year-round.

Book one (or more) of White Pine Camp’s 13 unique cabins and cottages. Cabins are furnished with authentic hand-made Adirondack furniture, stone fireplaces and wood stoves, and stunning views. All cabins and cottages include:

Surrounded by Adirondack preserve land and the St. Regis Canoe Wilderness, the Camp gives visitors access to some of the most extensive paddling routes in the U.S. At nearby Paul Smith's College, guests are welcome to enjoy the fitness center, cafe and the Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) on snowshoes, cross-country skiing, bird watching and back-country hiking.
A fire in 2020 at the camp affected several of the buildings. Luckily local firefighters and first responders were able to contain the blaze. Restoration is nearly complete of the areas the conflagration impacted.
White Pine Camp’s vast natural beauty and lovely accommodations make it an ideal retreat from the modern world. No televisions or landline phones in any of the accommodations help guests disconnect and truly relax. Can you dig it? We can.
