Hungry Trout Restaurant: An Adirondack Destination for Fresh Fish
Fine-dining with exceptional views and outstanding service.
The Hungry Trout Restaurant is situated outside the village of Lake Placid in the Hungry Trout Resort. The restaurant offers guests excellent cuisine and spectacular views of the Ausable River.
As the name suggests, the signature items on the menu are trout-based -- the current menu lists a smoked trout appetizer with horseradish as a first course and four trout entrees:
Roasted trout with lemon-caper butter
Campfire pan-seared roasted trout
Trout Grand Marnier
Pan-fried trout
If you’re a trout fan, you’ve arrived at the doorstep of trout Nirvana. We have friends who won’t order trout anywhere but here. It’s like flying Business Class; you can't go back to Economy once you’ve flown up-front.
Non-trout fanciers worry not; There are delicious alternatives, including duck, free-range venison rib chops, ribeye and other steak cuts, and chicken and seafood pasta.
And if you’re seriously torn between two worlds, opt for the Adirondack Guide Platter -- half a Campfire Trout, grilled Venison Rib Chop, and Roast Duck with accompanying sauces.
