Monday, January 15, 2024, is MLK Jr. Day, which means many of us have a three-day weekend (our favorite kind of weekend), and there are plenty of things to do in the ADK. Plus, we got some nice snow this week, and many places have been making more snow and grooming, which bodes well for all the snow sports.

Experience a magical world of light and sound at this interactive, multi-media installation in Lake George Village. Due to high demand, you may want to purchase your tickets in advance online.
Every winter, travelers visit this magical winter experience at Tupper Lake’s renowned Wild Center. This annual exhibition transforms the Wild Center's campus into a dazzling wonderland of light and sound, perfect for families and visitors of all ages.
Experience Adirondack Great Camp Santanoni in winter this weekend. Visitors can access the camp on XC skis or snowshoes (no vehicle access). It’s a 10-mile roundtrip journey, but visiting this stunning National Historic Landmark is worth it.
In this one-day living history event, Fort Ticonderoga will portray life in 1774 in a peacetime garrison in British North America on the eve of the Revolutionary War. The Tour de Ski is an exciting ski race series in the spectacular Adirondack Mountains. It comprises races at six venues, with multiple distances, and takes place from now through March 2024. Skiers of all abilities are welcome to participate.
The North Creek Ski Bowl hosts fun Nordic skiing and snowshoe racing in January and February on the professionally groomed Stadium Course under the lights. Participants can win exciting prizes through raffle-style drawings and participating in the events.
The Adirondack Center for Writing’s Barkreaders series features Andrew Weatherhead on Wednesday, January 17. Weatherhead will read from his latest book of poems, “Fudge.” In addition, Weatherhead will present a selection of his collages alongside his reading.
