  • Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center 5239 Lake Shore Drive Bolton, NY, 12814 United States (map)

Up Yonda Farms in Bolton Offers Snowshoeing Lessons Accompanied by a Hike Led by one of their Naturalists

Did you ever want to learn about snowshoeing but were too afraid to ask? Or simply never had time to learn the art of tromping on top of the snow with webbed shoes? Then Up Yonda Farm has you covered. They will not only instruct you in the ABCs of snowshoeing, but you’ll also learn more about winter in the Adirondacks and its impact on the natural world.

Reserve a spot on one of Up Yonda’s Naturalist-led hikes, happening weekends in January and February at 10:30 am and again at 1:30 pm. Snowshoe rentals in child and adult sizes are available for on-site use.

On a Naturalist-led hike, you’ll get the basics of snowshoeing while learning about animal tracking, winter ecology, and the history of Up Yonda Farm. The program traverses about a mile over the course of an hour and includes a stop at a scenic vista point overlooking Lake George. The program finishes near the Farmhouse, where a campfire and hot chocolate will be available.

Reservations are recommended via a non-refundable reservation deposit of $1/person at upyondafarm.com. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
