Total eclipse timetable.
The Eclipse lasts for over two hours. During a solar eclipse, the Moon, on its orbit, completely covers the Sun and creates a shadow, known as the umbra, on the surface of the Earth.
This rare and awe-inspiring phenomenon occurs when the Sun, Moon, and Earth align so that the Moon passes directly between them in its orbit. As the Moon continues its trajectory, the shadow moves across the Earth, creating the Path of Totality.
For those of us on Earth, the net effect is that the sky overhead appears dark as if it were nighttime.
Partial totality begins at 2:13 pm
Complete totality begins at 3:25 pm
Maximum totality at 3:26 pm
Complete totality ends at 3:28 pm
Partial totality ends at 4:36 pm
