Saranac Lake First Friday: Make Your Own A-Roman Therapy Bath Bombs

On February 3, 2023, Saranac Lake not only hosts its monthly First Friday, but it’s also the kick-off of Winter Carnival. To commemorate the event, the folks at ADK ArtRise will open their studio to teach visitors how to mix their own bath bombs.

Why bath bombs, you ask? This year’s Winter Carnival theme is “Roman Around Carnival.” And what is more Roman than baths?

In fact, Roman baths were designed for bathing, relaxing and especially socializing. They were a common feature of cities throughout the Roman empire.

Baths included a wide diversity of rooms with different temperatures, swimming pools, and places to read, relax, and socialize. Roman baths, with their large covered spaces, were important drivers in architectural innovation, notably in the use of domes.

But to be honest, we’re suckers for a good pun, so we couldn’t resist posting this.

Check out the ADK ArtRise website for more information and to reserve your spot.
