Greetings! Welcome to another issue of the In Good Taste newsletter. We’re pleased to share our weekly dose of hand-selected Adirondack experiences, places to visit, insights and events. We finally had a bit of a thaw in the weather this week, which has us day-dreaming about spring and warmer days ahead. Hence, the summertime photo above of one of our favorite destinations, Great Camp Sagamore. It’s not just the warm weather that has us thinking about Sagamore; this week, we hosted Connor Williams, Great Camp Sagamore’s Historian, on the ADK Talks podcast. We had a fascinating discussion about the Vanderbilt family's former private getaway during the Gilded Age. We explore Great Camp Sagamore’s intriguing blend of luxury and nature, shaping a unique legacy of rustic elegance. Speaking of luxury, in this week’s newsletter, we stop by The Point, the resort that was formerly the Rockefellers’ Great Camp. Originally called Camp Wonundra, The Point was designated as North America's first Relais & Châteaux member and is the only Forbes Five-Star property in Upstate New York. March is Women’s History Month, and we pay homage to Anne LaBastille, an Adirondack Woodswoman who built a home on a remote lake that is 180 degrees from a luxury Great Camp but no less sublime. As we do every week, this week's newsletter features more great ideas and suggestions (if we do say so ourselves), including our recommendations for weekend events, our weekly ski and snow report, and other news updates. So, let’s get to it and dive into this week’s In Good Taste!
