It’s time to pre-game for July 4th, and there are plenty of fun things to do in the ADK.

We can’t wait to start celebrating the 4th, and it seems like our Adirondack neighbors are just as eager to get the party started.

Lake Placid Horse Shows | Multiple Days

Experience the thrill of attending one of the nation’s most prestigious equine events in beautiful Lake Placid. Lake Placid is home to two of the nation’s most prestigious equine masterpieces – the Lake Placid and I Love New York, Horse Shows.

Canoe to Brew | Saranac Lake | June 30th

The final Canoe to Brew tour for 2023 is an exciting paddle from the State Boat Launch on Second Pond to Ampersand Bay on Lower Saranac Lake.

Afterward, reconvene with your fellow paddlers at Bitters & Bones on Broadway in the Village of Saranac Lake for well-deserved refreshments.

An upbeat and quick-witted middle-aged woman recounts her upbringing as a speech and debate champion, traveling the country as a 15-year-old. A charming and incisive analysis of gender and racial biases inherent to the U.S. Constitution, the play examines how this living document could evolve to fit modern America. Best 4th in the North | Ticonderoga | July 1

The Town of Ticonderoga has planned a 4-day celebration to commemorate Independence Day. This year’s event begins on Saturday, July 1, at 4 pm in Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park on Montcalm Street in the heart of the Village of Ticonderoga.

Events include carnival rides, food trucks and vendors, live music, a kids’ inflatable fun zone, and more.

Albany Symphony | John Brown Farm | Lake Placid | July 1

The 2023 American Music Festival “Convergence” celebrates the latest musical innovations, featuring the Albany Symphony at the John Brown Farm State Historic Site.

As part of a three-year collaborative project, Convergence brings together the Albany Symphony, an array of performers and organizations to engage in various Black artistic disciplines relating to the breadth of American culture, new music, and meaningful community-building work. Discover more.

Celebrate Independence Day in Speculator | July 1

The Village of Speculator hosts their annual 4th of July festivities on Saturday, July 1. The action starts at 5 pm with plenty of food, fun, games, and live music.

Events include the annual parade, a carnival, live music, bouncy houses for the Lil’ ADKers and fireworks.

Music on the Mountain | West Mountain | July 1

West Mountain‘s Music on the Mountain Concert is a great way to begin the 4th of July weekend in the southern Adirondacks.

This year’s headliner is Jukebox Rebellion, one of upstate New York’s beloved music acts, who knows how to get the crowd on their feet and shaking their rump roasts. The band plays the Top 40 hits of today and classic favorites that people of all ages love to sing and dance to.

Indian Lake | Parade and Fireworks | July 1

Indian Lake’s July 4 events will be held at Byron Park on Saturday, July 1. The Annual Independence Day Parade, filled with floats, cars, tractors, and more, kicks off at 7 pm and will make its way from Indian Lake Town Hall down to Byron Park on the shores of Adirondack Lake.

Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Indian Lake State Park will host the 2023 Indian Lake Beach Spectacular and Fireworks at dusk in Bryon Park off Route 28 at the south end of Adirondack Lake.

Dixie’s Tupperware Party | Lake Placid | July 1

Dixie Longate is the fast-talking, gum-chewing, ginger-haired Alabama gal bringing your grandma’s Tupperware party into the 21st century.

Appearing at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Dixie makes audiences howl with laughter as she demonstrates the many alternative uses for the iconic plastic kitchen staple.

Filled with hilarious tales, heartfelt accounts, audience participation and a little bit of empowerment and homespun wisdom, Dixie’s Tupperware Party leaves your heart a little bigger and your food a little fresher.

Piano Recital | The Sembrich | July 1

Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, the 2022 Concert Artists Guild Competition winner, presents a program entitled “Innovators” at The Sembrich in Bolton Landing.

Sanchez-Werner’s performance will feature works by Schumann, Liszt, Haydn, Ponce and Stravinsky.

Johnsburg Independence Day Celebration | North Creek Ski Bowl Park | July 2

The Town of Johnsburg has a full day of activities to celebrate America’s birthday. The festivities will take place at the North Creek Ski Bowl Town Park, just off Route 28.

The celebration starts with a parade that commences at the North Creek Firehouse at 1 pm. Spend the rest of the day at Ski Bowl Park enjoying live music, local food vendors, kids’ games, and fireworks.
