The Adirondack Winter Invitational is a two-day event that brings together some of the best men's college hockey players from around the nation. The event is hosted in the historic 1980 Herb Brooks Arena, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics Miracle on Ice.

It’s time to put the holiday celebration on repeat and enjoy some cocktails and a show at the Strand Center for the Arts in Plattsburgh. They are collaborating with the Ausable Theater to bring back the very popular Drag Christmas Special.
Can’t wait until New Year’s Day to immerse yourself in the pristine (and freezing cold) Adirondack waters? Then head to Long Lake in the Central Adirondacks for the annual Feeling Long Lakey Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, December 30.

Saranac Lake's beloved New Year's Eve celebration, First Night, is returning with a new name but the same enthusiasm for celebrating community, arts, and culture. Organizers are planning an unforgettable New Year's Eve experience filled with live performances, family-friendly activities, dazzling fireworks, and much more.
On Saturday, December 31, 2023, the mountain will host a torchlit parade and fireworks display starting at 8 pm. The parade is stunning as skiers and snowboarders glide down the hill, holding torches.
The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing on Lake George is hosting a New Year’s Eve Celebration for hotel guests and visitors. Festivities include DJ and dancing, fireworks over the lake, bonfires and S’mores, party favors, a cash bar and food. This is an outdoor event overlooking beautiful Lake George.
Lake George hosts its annual Polar Plunge at Shepard Park Beach on New Year’s Day. The annual event usually draws over 1,000 hearty souls to the shores of the Queen of American Lakes to experience the exquisite pain and thrill of dunking themselves into frigid Adirondack waters.
If you want a fresh way to start in 2024, you can celebrate the New Year by participating in a First Day Hike at one of the multiple locations across the Adirondacks.
Jump in; the water will be fine on Monday, January 1st, at noon at the Boat Launch at the Speculator Pavilion and Park.
Join a longstanding Adirondack tradition and kick off 2024 with a relaxing cruise on Lake George, also known as the Queen of the American Lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Southern Adirondacks during winter aboard The Adirondac, a lovely 115-foot-long ship accommodating up to 400 passengers.
