Rockefeller Center Xmas Tree from the ADK

This year’s magnificent Christmas tree is an 82-foot-tall Norway Spruce from Queensbury.

It is said that the Holiday Season doesn’t begin in New York City until the annual tree lighting at Rockefeller Center in the heart of Midtown. We think this year’s tree will shine just a little brighter and make hearts beat faster because it comes from the Adirondacks.

On 30 November, the annual tree lighting ceremony commences with a live broadcast of the festivities.

NBC News TODAY co-anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, and "Access Hollywood's" Mario Lopez will co-host the always-popular event.

This year’s entertainment includes Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, their holiday duet, "You Make It Feel Like Christmas."

Among the other headliners slated to perform is famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli with his son Matteo Bocelli and daughter Virginia Bocelli. We’re betting they will perform something from their new album, “A Family Christmas.”

The Bocelli family shares the bill with David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Alicia Keys, the Muppets of Sesame Street, and many more. Visit NBC’s website for more information on the live broadcast.

After November 30th, the Tree will be lit daily from 6 am-12 am. It is lit for 24 hours on Christmas Day, and on New Year’s Eve, from 6 am to 9 pm.

The isle of Manhattan and all five Boros have the Leibowitz Family of Queensbury in the Southern Foothills of the ADK to thank for their generous donation of the giant 82-foot, 14-ton Norway Spruce. Thanks, Leibowitzes!
