Raquette Lake Winter Carnival 2023 — Day One

Raquette Lake hosts its annual Winter Carnival on February 18 and 19. They’ve put together a great day of outdoor fun and games for the whole family.

Day One — Highlights

• Inaugural Rough Raquette Snowshoe Race

• The Ubiquitous Ladies’ Fry Pan Toss

• Magic Show

• Various Kids’ Games and Competitions

• Bonfires

• Fireworks at Dusk

Schedule — Saturday, February 18

9 am: Rough Raquette Snowshoe Race

• 5K snowshoe or one-mile fun run or walk.

• The completely flat course takes place on the ice, starting near town and heading toward South Bay before looping back to town.

• It is an out-and-back race. The race will start out on the ice approximately ¼ mile from the village.

• Be sure to allow time to get to the starting area after your arrival.

• The 1-mile fun run and 5-K run concurrently and share the same course for the first ½ mile.

• YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN SNOWSHOES

11 am: Kids Games

• Sack races

Noon: Ladies Frying Pan Toss

2 pm: Magic Show with Pete and Chris — in the Raquette Lake Library

2 pm: Ice Golf

7 pm: Fireworks
