24th Annual Lite Up the Village in Lake George

  • Queensbury Hotel 88 Ridge Street Glens Falls, NY, 12801 United States (map)

Starting Saturday, November 26, 10,000 lights will give the Village of Lake George a festive glow. This is yet another fun, family, and free event in the North Country. The action kicks off in Shepard Park at 3:00 p.m. with:

  • Horse-drawn carriage rides

  • Refreshments

  • Family-friendly holiday sing-along (begins at 4 pm) with the always entertaining Bobby Dick and Susie Q

  • A live performance by Rich Ortiz

  • Adirondack Ugly Sweater Contest at 5:30 pm for both adults and kids (13 and under), including valuable prizes.

The main event begins at 6:30 pm in Shepard’s park with the countdown to Lite up the Village, followed by a spectacular fireworks show over the lake.

But that’s not enough for the good people of Lake George. They will “turn it up to 11” with a Fire Apparatus Holiday Light Parade at 7:00 pm along Canada Street. Event organizers expect over 15 Fire Departments to compete for cash prizes, which they will award during a free refreshment hour at the Lake George American Legion.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive with the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department on Ottawa Street for a meet and greet with all families attending the parade. The Lake George Community Band will fill the firehouse with holiday tunes while you wait to meet the Claus family.

Adding to the excitement and fun:

  • Lake George Village merchants will offer special sales all-day

  • Refreshments will be on offer from local vendors

  • Students from the Lake George Teen Center will serve hot chocolate at the park

Just don’t forget to bring a toy donation for the Marines for Toys for Tots.

This event takes place rain, snow or shine.
