The Glacier Ice Bar Returns to Lake George’s Sagamore Resort

The Terrace overlooking the frozen waters of Lake George at the Sagamore Resort is your destination for two weekends in January for their annual Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge. You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to visit, but you do have to pre-purchase a ticket ($40 per person).
The Sagamore’s Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge 2024 Theme: The Circus.
Enjoy an outdoor cocktail lounge made entirely of ice — the bar, barstools, tables, chairs and even sofas. It takes over 50,000 pounds to make the frozen magic happen. The entire Terrace will be transformed into a Circus-themed winter wonderland.
A seven-foot-tall elephant constructed of 15 blocks (approximately 4,500 pounds of ice. A 15-foot-long and 8-foot-tall back bar will be intricately sculpted to resemble a billowing circus tent. Ice luges that take on the shape of Ferris wheels and a full-size ice ticket booth that pumps out popcorn and beer.
Other highlights include sculpted ice lions, an elaborately carved circus wagon, and life-size clowns with unique face cutouts for the ultimate photo op (clown noses provided). Video screens will also display circus scenes, while games like ring toss, disc drop, and cornhole add to the festive atmosphere.
Handcrafted cocktails and delicious small bites are on the menu at this year’s ice bar.
As usual, firepits and private igloos will be woven throughout the event, along with light bites and signature icy-cool cocktails. The handcrafted cocktails range from warm, boozy coffee beverages to festive cranberry, vodka, and champagne creations. We’re looking forward to a Frosty Mojito or an Old Man Winter. Mocktails for the designated driver are also available. Also on offer will be a variety of tasty soups and snacks.
The Ice Bar will be open for two weekends — January 19 & 20 and 26 & 27, on Fridays from 4 pm to 10 pm and Saturdays from 12 pm to 10 pm. And fireworks on both nights at 9:45 pm.
